White Pineapple Socks

There is a house on the windward side where the screen door never quite latches and the fruit bowl is always full. Somebody's aunt taught somebody's daughter to cut a pineapple properly — crown off, spiral the eyes, don't waste the core — and the lesson stuck the way island lessons do. These socks came out of that kitchen sensibility.
