Softener is one of those things people stop thinking about somewhere around the second bottle. It goes in the cap, the cap goes in the drawer, and the whole business quietly becomes a plastic jug you replace forever. This one interrupts that. You buy the bottle once. After that you bring it back and fill it, and the same amber bottle sits on the shelf above the machine for years, getting a little more scuffed and a little more yours.
A capful in the rinse is plenty. Use it on the towels that have gone stiff and board-like, on line-dried sheets in August, on the flannel that came out of the winter bin smelling like the winter bin. Skip it entirely on anything technical or waterproof. The 16 oz with a pump lives beside the machine; the 32 oz refill lives in the cupboard and outlasts it twice over.
