Ponte Riding Pants

Ponte di Roma, which is a great deal sturdier than the average legging and behaves accordingly — it does not sag at the knee by ten in the morning, it does not go transparent, it does not require a second thought. The waistband is flat elastic, so it pulls on without help. The knees are quilted faux suede, which is either a stable-yard reference or simply the place where children wear holes first, depending on how romantic one wants to be about it. Double welt pockets at the back, purely decorative and entirely convincing.
Wear them under the Nordic sweater dress, under a cardigan, under whatever the weather demands. Slim enough for boots, forgiving enough to sit cross-legged on a classroom floor.
