Blue sage — green sage, if that is what you grew up calling it — burns gentler than white, and the patchouli gives it a deep resinous base note that lingers long after the smoke has gone. No pesticides, no growth hormones.

Light the tip, let it flame a few seconds, blow it out and let the smoke work its way through the room. A shell or ceramic dish underneath for the ash.
