For the Fire Goddess — a black cat under a white capiz moon, swinging from hand-knotted macramé.
Every witch worth her salt keeps a black cat and consults the moon; here they hang together. Om Gallery's artisan partners in the Philippines knot the rope by hand and cut the moon from capiz shell — the translucent "windowpane oyster" shell first harvested near the town of Capiz on the island of Panay. Cleaned and painted, the shells catch light the way the real moon catches the sun.
Hang it in a window where the moonlight can find its little twin, or over the altar, the bookshelf, the doorway that needs a familiar.
