Three hundred and two pieces arrive in bags divided into three festive sections, every one of them decorated in candy-colored gingerbread illustration. You assemble flat, seal each section with the included glue sheets and support bars, and end up with a house.

Set it on the mantel, on the entry table, in the middle of the dinner spread. It goes back in the box in January and comes out again next year, which is the whole point of a good ornament.
