A wheel of dehydrated blood orange floating in a glass does more work than any amount of technique. These come in small kraft paper boxes, one fruit to a box, dried slowly at low temperature with nothing whatsoever added — no sugar, no preservative, no color.
Drop one into a cocktail or a glass of sparkling water, set them on top of a cake, or tie a box into a gift basket or a wedding favor. Choose lemon or lime for a highball, cara cara or blood orange for something darker, apple or pineapple for punch.
