Calendula Oil

For the Air Goddess — the one who keeps a small amber bottle on the windowsill and reaches for it last thing at night.

Calendula is the flower that refuses to be subtle. It opens gold, it closes gold, and when you steep the petals in oil for weeks the oil goes gold too. This one is organic calendula blossoms infused into jojoba and sweet almond oil, with vitamin E to keep it sweet. Nothing else. It smells faintly of hay and of a herb-drying room in August.

A few drops are plenty. Warm them between your palms and press into a clean face, or work them along dry elbows, cuticles and shins after a bath. It layers under a cream or stands perfectly well on its own.
