Upcycled Sari Reusable Tote Bag

What was a sari is now a shopping bag, cut and resewn by hand from Indian fabric that had already had one life and was too beautiful to lose. The colors come from whatever the cloth was before, so no two go out the same: marigold, pomegranate, the particular pink that only ever turns up on a sari.

The design is plain and the seams are not, which is the right way round. It swallows a farmers market haul without complaint and folds back down into its own little pouch afterward, small enough to live in a coat pocket or a glove compartment and be there on the day you forget everything else.
