Upcycled Sari Wheat Bag

A cotton bag faced in salvaged Indian sari, sewn by hand, and sent to you empty. You fill it yourself: rice, quinoa or wheat berries, a few drops of an essential oil you like if the mood takes you, then close it up. Every one is cut from different rescued fabric, so the pattern that arrives is yours and no one else's.

Into the microwave in thirty second bursts until it is as warm as you want it, then onto a shoulder, across the lower back, or over cold feet at the end of the bed. Into the freezer instead when the day calls for cold rather than heat. It goes soft and heavy the way a good one should, and it holds its warmth long past the point you expect it to give up.
