For the Earth Goddess — who wants nothing on her bathroom shelf that will outlive her.
Sisal comes from the agave plant, and it has been twisted into rope, rugs and scrubbing cloths for centuries because it is tough, thirsty and entirely willing to return to the soil when it is finished. This one arrives unpackaged — no shrink wrap, no cardboard sleeve, no little plastic window. Just the cloth.
Wet it and the fibres soften enough for a face; use it barely damp and it exfoliates like a mitt. Hang it to dry between uses and it will outlast several of the cotton cloths it replaces. When it finally gives out, it goes in the compost.
