Carnelian in matte and polished 8 mm rounds carries the red — orange-red, warm, the color of a brick wall at six in the evening. Matte sodalite carries the blue and matte white jade the white, and a single polished citrine nugget sits at the center, irregular and honey-colored, the one bead in the round that is not a sphere. Pyrite rondelles spacer the whole thing in dull gold, and a hematite star finishes it.

Made in a child's size, worn all summer, and correct at a parade, a ballgame or a back porch on the fourth. Stretch fit, no clasp, nothing to lose in the grass.
