Grapefruit & Rosemary Cocktail and Mocktail Mixer, 16 oz

Wood Stove Kitchen met this combination at a bar in Boston — grapefruit and rosemary in a simple syrup — and decided the rest of us deserved to know. The rosemary is not shy here. It comes through the way a good herb should, cutting the sweetness and giving the grapefruit somewhere to land. A dollop of cranberry juice concentrate is what turns it that ruby color.

Pour it over gin or vodka and top with soda, or skip the liquor entirely and use sparkling water — it holds up either way. Also very good in iced tea, when the afternoon calls for something more interesting than lemon.
