Frogs are the old world's shorthand for renewal: rain coming, luck turning, life starting over. This one — thirteen hand-painted inches of him — began as a recycled steel oil drum in Haiti, where the artisans of Le Primitif still practice the craft Georges Liautaud founded in the late 1950s: design chalked on flattened steel, then cut free by hand with mallet and chisel. Entirely handmade, so dimensions and finish vary slightly. He is one of one.
