For the Water Goddess — who knows exactly what a sweating glass will do to a wooden table over the course of one long summer.

A round coaster knotted from premium cotton, finished with a fringe that lies flat and moves a little when you set a glass down. Cotton drinks the condensation rather than sliding it around the way cork or slate does, and when it has had enough, it washes. The macrame work is dense and even, which is what keeps a round of it from going shapeless after a season of use.

Use it under iced drinks and morning coffee, or turn it into a small mat for a candle, a trailing plant, a stack of rings by the sink. A pair of them makes a housewarming gift that people actually keep.
