For the Fire Goddess — fourteen inches of striped-stocking authority over everything that simmers.

Trudy wears the classic pointed hat and a flowing black skirt with layered netting that gives her a playful, floating look — as though she has just come in for a landing over your stovetop. A colorful blouse in purples, striped stockings, and curled shoes complete the picture; broom in hand, mischievous smile fixed, she takes up the ancient post of kitchen guardian with obvious relish. The old rhyme states her duties plainly: nothing spills, nothing spoils, overcooks or overboils.

At a generous 14 inches she holds her own on a big open shelf or hanging beside the range hood. Keep her where you brew, bake, and manifest — she is said to counteract ill-will directed at the home and spark creativity in anyone who mixes remedies from scratch.
