For the Fire Goddess — broom in hand, stockings striped, standards high.

Trudy in green wears the classic pointed hat and a flowing black skirt with layered netting that floats as though she has only just landed. A cheerful green-toned blouse, striped stockings, and curled shoes give her the whimsy; the broom and the mischievous smile give her the authority. Hers is the ancient office of the kitchen guardian: nothing spills, nothing spoils, overcooks or overboils.

A statement-sized 14 inches, she commands an open shelf or hangs proudly beside the range. Keep her close when you cook by intuition and brew by moonlight — tradition says she counteracts ill-will in the home and stirs creativity into every homemade remedy.
