For the Fire Goddess — Elsbeth has kept kitchens out of trouble since before nonstick was invented.

She comes from the same venerable line as every Norwegian kitchen witch before her — the benevolent guardian whose job the old rhyme defines exactly: nothing spills, nothing spoils, overcooks or overboils. Dressed in blues with handmade layered fabrics, delicate netting, and broom in hand, Elsbeth counteracts ill-will directed at the home and brings a steady, protective warmth to the hearth.

Station her over the stove or beside your favorite teapot. She pairs beautifully with slow Sunday soups, homemade tinctures, and the general conviction that a well-loved kitchen is its own kind of altar.
